Largely their work has been concentrated in multi storey refurbishment work complimenting the improvement work carried out by the main contractor.

Re: IWE Electrical Services Ltd.

As the Team Leader of the Communities Team delivering works under a framework arrangement with Erimus Housing, I would comment as follows on our working relationship with IWE.

Rok were selected to manage the refurbishment of various high rise blocks within a framework arrangement for Erimus Housing in Middlesbrough. The emphasis within the framework is for all parties to operate within a ‘partnering’ ethos and we aim therefore to develop this throughout the supply chain. IWE were brought into the team in 2006 to deal with the install of essential element of the works, namely fire detection and emergency lighting systems.

To date IWE have assisted us in the successful delivery of works to Glastonbury House, Thorntree House and Fleet House (16 storey with 134 apartments) and Welton House (16 storey with 90 apartments). The project at Welton House has only recently been completed and is viewed as a ‘flagship’ project for Erimus Housing. The IWE team were extensively involved in this project working closely with the client, consultants, other contractors and ourselves to ensure delivery to stated targets for quality, cost and time. I would also comment on IWE’s contribution to the excellent health and safety performance achieved in the delivery of all works for Erimus, with a zero accident record across all of the projects.

IWE have been a major contributor to the partnering team, with the Erimus Housing framework being recognised at regional level by winning the ‘Collaboration and Integration’ category at the North East Constructing Excellence Awards Event in 2008. Also Rok were awarded ‘Contractor of the Year 2008’ by Erimus Housing and once again I would recognise the full and effective contribution made by IWE to this.

Finally I would wish to mention the key roles performed by both Ian Willoughby and Dave Bryant but equally have found the representatives at all levels of the IWE team to be approachable, well informed and responsive to our needs.

I would certainly recommend the IWE team for any similar work.
